Buy online Dried Italian Prunes (semi-dry), with no preservatives and no added sugar (naturally containing sugar).
As dried fruit experts we have selected the semi-dehydration method for our Dried Italian Prunes: a dehydration technique that maintains the right moisture in each prune, making them soft and delicious. They have a pleasantly soft texture reminiscent of fresh, ripe prunes, as if freshly plucked.
We have chosen prunes from an Italian supply chain, grown every day by hands full of love and respect for the environment. The fresh prunes are carefully selected, cut in half and semi-dried according to precise parameters, so that each prune remains soft, juicy and with an authentic taste.
The semi-dried prunes are already cut into pieces; at the very first taste you will be surprised by their natural sweetness. You can buy our semi-dry Italian prunes in practical 200 g packs for real dried fruit lovers.

Curiosity
Do you know why our Dried Italian Prunes are so soft?
Because they are the result of semi-dehydration, a technique that maintains the perfect moisture in the fruit, making the prunes soft at every bite and preserving the authentic taste, as if freshly harvested. Semi-dry prunes retain the characteristic colour of dried prunes, with a light-coloured centre.
History
The prune is a very ancient fruit that was introduced to Europe around 20,000 years ago. Its origin can be found in Eurasia and North America. The first evidence of its presence in Italy can be traced back to the 1st century AD, through Pliny the Elder who mentions it in his Naturalis historia. The Prunus domestica plant is a deciduous tree, probably derived from hybridisation between Prunus spinosa and a variety of Prunus cerasifera.
Also known as plum tree, the plant can reach heights of 6-10 m, although it is normally 5-6 m tall. It has an average life span of 30 years and takes 6 to 8 years to become productive. Depending on the climatic conditions and variety, grafted trees can start producing as early as the third year of age; on average, a 4-year-old tree will produce around 150 fruits and around 1,400 when it reaches 7 years of age. The fruit is a round or oval drupe covered with a whitish wax (the pruine, which protects the fruit from ultraviolet rays and prevents excessive dehydration), yellow, red or purplish in colour, with a medium-sized, hairy stalk and an oblong, compressed, rather rough stone with a single rib on one side.
